Build AI into the work your team already does.

BuildSmart scopes and builds AI into one back-office workflow, with a target of production use in about 90 days. The work includes implementation, measurement and team handover.

Choose one workflow with a clear owner

Start where work is repetitive and the result can be measured. Invoice handling, contract review and compliance queues are examples of process areas to investigate. These are possible applications, not claims of client results or a promise that every task should be automated.

Document and invoice workflows

A document workflow can separate extraction, validation and exception review. First identify the required fields and the checks that matter. Keep a clear route for incomplete documents and conflicting values, and measure completed cases rather than the number of documents a model reads.

Contract review workflows

Define the clauses and deviations a reviewer needs to see, then connect findings to the original source. People remain responsible for legal judgment and sign-off. A useful baseline includes time to first review, queue age and the rate of corrections after review.

Compliance queues

A triage workflow should make evidence easier to inspect and send uncertain cases to the responsible person. Define review thresholds, ownership and escalation before deployment. AI output is not a substitute for the applicable compliance requirements or accountable human decisions.

From assessment to handover

First choose the process and establish its baseline. During the build sprint, integrate the workflow with the team, test representative cases and exceptions, and define who operates it. The engagement includes a measurement dashboard, team training and a before-and-after Proof Report.

How is success measured?

Agree on a metric before building: process time, cost per completed task, error rate or throughput. Compare equivalent work and include review effort and operating costs. An estimated time saving alone does not establish cash savings.

What affects the timeline?

Data access, integrations, review requirements and the availability of the process owner affect scope and timing. About 90 days is the build target, not an unconditional delivery guarantee. Start with a discovery call to discuss fit.
